Sunday someone came to the front door and we noticed a very large, dangerous looking spider. Had to run out and take a couple pictures of it. I also noticed a very large mushroom growing at the edge of the front yard. Just had to share.

Yep...he's scary looking. I literally ran into one of those, but they are supposedly harmless grass spiders. Stephie didn't find it harmless when I ran into one, and then promptly turned around and ran her over to get away from it!
yeah, she looks scary but they are "script writers" and are known as garden spiders. They like sun and no wind. They also eat their web each night and start a new one the next day....I also got some pictures of these creatures as well a few days ago...
It must be their season because that is the same type of spider I have in my backyard. Your picture turned out awesome. My spider was facing the fence and I could not get in front to get a good shot.
When I was a kid they would freak me out. I know they are harmless but they are scary looking. I always wondered if that was the type of spider in Charlotte's web. She should be my mascot since Charlotte is my real name.
This spider is amazing. You have an eye to find this creatures.
Great focus, that spider would be a good one for my fused glass bug series :)
Thanks for showing...
Beautiful photography, Laurel! I read what Kimberly wrote and was amazed that the spider eats her web every night. I can't imagine spending all day on a layout only to eat it at the end of mania!
You have a great eye!
